Geochronometria

Journal on Methods and Applications of Absolute Chronology

The Institute of Physics (GADAM Centre of Excellence Team) publishes Geochronometria, a multi-disciplinary Journal on Methods and Applications of Absolute Chronology (Copyright by Silesian University of Technology, Gliwice; Editor-in-Chief Anna Pazdur, Consulting Editor Grzegorz Adamiec, Assistant Editor Danuta Michczynska). Geochronometria has an International Scientific Board and all papers are peer reviewed. Starting from volume 24 (in 2005), Geochronometria has been included in the Science Citation Index. Geochronometria received the first Impact Factor in August 2008 which is equal to 0.667 (in 2012 is equal to 1.653).

Since volume 26, Geochronometria was published electronically through the publishing house VERSITA, who is the official representative of MetaPress and Springer for Poland and Central Europe. Starting from volume 26, the frequency increased to 3-4 volumes a year.

Volumes 18-36 can be found on the Web page www.geochronometria.pl and since volume 26 also at MetaPress. Starting 2011 Geochronometria is co-published with Springer Verlag.

Geochronometria is also published in a small number of copies in printed form.

Molecular and Quantum Acoustics

MQA is an international scientific annual journal which has existed since 1979. Editors of MQA are the Upper Silesian Division of Polish Acoustical Society, Institute of Physics at the Silesian University of Technology and Committee of Acoustics of the Polish Academy of Sciences. In MQA, results of investigations from the area of the wide understanding acoustics are published, obtained in various international scientific centers all over the world. The Scientific Editorial Board of MQA is formed by the group of distinguished acousticians from around the world. The journal is indexed in INSPEC database.

Book collection

The library owns about 2,000 books mainly on physics, mathematics, and applied computer science. A large part of the collections is English books. In the library, there are also diploma theses elaborated in the Institute.

Access

Employees and PhD students of the institute and students of courses run by the institute after showing ID or library card. Employees and students of the other units of Silesian University of Technology can borrow books through the Main Library.
